F.O.B.E. - Friends Of Bracken Edge
The Parent Teacher Association of Bracken Edge Primary School
We are a friendly and informal group of parents and school staff who try our best to make life even better and more fun for the children at BEPS.
Our role is to:
• encourage closer links between home and school
• undertake fundraising work to fund our projects
• provide opportunity for parents, staff and pupils to get together and socialise
We will turn our hand to almost anything wanted or needed. Our most recent projects are shown below.
We would love to have more members and don’t need you to commit to doing anything in order to join. You may just want to bring ideas and suggestions, you may have time to come to meetings (about once per half term), you may want to be involved in a single project or you may want to throw yourself into it all!

Current Activities
Recipe Book Project
We are creating a recipe book to celebrate families at our school, and their cultures.
Reading support
We are going to be supporting children to read by volunteering regularly within school.
Unicycle
Uniform is available daily and through stalls
Previous Activities
Playground Equipment
FOBE raised money to provide a variety of new playground equipment for the key stage 2 areas after feedback from children, there wasn't much to do rather than football.
Sumer Fayre
Our first annual summer fayre took place in 2023. We had games, stalls and refreshments along with crafts and face painting. We will be continuing this tradition yearly.
Leavers Disco / School Disco
At the end of every academic year we hold a leavers disco for our current year 6s before they go off to high school
Curry Event
This year we held our first curry and drinks night at our local brewery. It was a great success and we plan to do it again.
Winter Disco
We held a disco for both key stage 1 and key stage 2 before Christmas which was enjoyed by all the students as an end of year treat.

COVID foodbank During the height of the pandemic, we established a weekly food collection and donation scheme for families identified by school staff as being in need of support. This ran throughout the 2020-2021 school year and was hugely appreciated by the recipient families. |
Christmas food hampers
For the families supported by weekly food bank parcels, we also put together a Christmas food parcel with everything to make a special Christmas meal.
| Christmas decorations The FOBE Christmas elves came out one evening to decorate the school fences and gates ready for the children in the morning! |
| Reading hut We got our paintbrushes out and decorated the reading hut to make it more inviting for the children. The paint was kindly donated by Seagulls. |
| Winter Wonderland The FOBE fairies once again decorated the school grounds and created a sparkling trail through the woods. We joined forces with Hyde Park Source to provide a fire to toast marshmallows, along with making spiced apple juice for the children to enjoy. Santa made an appearance and we helped him arrange a book for every child. |
| Spring Fling We provided free refreshments for children and their grown-ups at the Spring Fling when the goats were introduced to the school community. |
